Big Thicket Science Conference 2015

4/17 - 4/18/15: Arthur Perkins and Chris Little attended the Big Thicket Science Conference at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. The purpose of the conference is to highlight the results of recent ecological research and conservation efforts to understand, manage, and restore the unique biological diversity of the Big Thicket and surrounding West Gulf Coastal Plain.  Along with attending the conference presentations and social events, Arthur and Chris both gave presentations at the conference based on recent DESCO projects in the Big Thicket. On Friday afternoon, Mr. Perkins presented results from Assessment of vegetation in the Beaumont Unit and other adjacent lands of the Big Thicket National Preserve, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, and Orange Counties, Texas. On Saturday morning, Mr. Little presented results from Ecological survey of a pitcher plant bog, Turkey Creek unit, Big thicket National Preserve, Tyler County, Texas.
