DESCO Attends the 2016 Texas Mollusk Symposium

 

 

8/9/16: DESCO’s Senior Biologist/ Ecologist IV, Arthur Perkins attended the 3 day 2016 Texas Mollusk Symposium at Texas A&M Agriculture Ext. Research Office in Dallas, TX. The symposium attracted many attendees and featured sessions covering mussel distribution and abundance, population dynamics, regulatory topics, as well as talks on Rangia clams and zebra mussels. “The field trip was beneficial and informative. We went to where the Sabine River crosses SH 14, north of Tyler. This site had 13 different species of mussels with 2 state listed species.” said Perkins.
