DESCO Competes in Galveston Bay Foundation’s Ladies Casting for Conservation Tournament 2015

7/25/2015: Tanya Matcek, Jackie Gilliam, and Errin Bryner competed in the 3^rd Annual Ladies Casting for Conservation Tournament. The all-day fishing event started at 6 in the morning and lasted through a beautiful sunny day in Crystal Beach, Texas. The ladies tournament is not only an enjoyable experience for new and experienced fishers but also benefits the non-profit conservation organization. We had a great time and hope to do it again next year!

This project was important to me because I grew up around, worked in, and played in the Anahuac NWR.. It is a beautiful place that was hit hard by Hurricane Ike. It was a privilege to work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to restore this natural beauty and ensure that future generations can have the same experiences I had growing up and discovering the uniqueness of the Texas coast.
