DESCO Environmental Consultants, LP (DESCO) offers a full suite of environmental services, from planning and permitting through project completion. Our services include, but are not limited to: environmentally conscious project planning; regulatory permitting and compliance (NEPA, CWA, NHPA, ESA, CERCLA, MBTA, etc.); habitat and impact assessments; threatened, endangered, and sensitive species surveys; wetland assessments, delineation, mitigation, and monitoring; ecological and vegetation data collection; vegetation sampling and mapping; cultural resources surveys; development of habitat conservation and management plans; compliance monitoring; fish impact assessments; marine mammal monitoring; and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis, among others.

Full-Time Senior Ecologist/Biologist

DESCO is seeking a Senior Ecologist/Biologist who can provide field and technical support for restoration, oil and gas, transportation, utilities, and development projects. Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assisting with wetland delineations in accordance with USACE methodology to support Section 404/401 Clean Water Act permitting
  • Conducting compliance monitoring of construction and/or restoration activities
  • Conducting threatened and endangered species assessments/surveys
  • Preparing field equipment, identifying and planning field logistics, providing oversight of survey implementation, and data management
  • Preparing complete and accurate field forms and technical reports summarizing field surveys/efforts
  • Assisting with preparation of Section 7 ESA and NEPA documentation
  • Managing field projects and field personnel
  • Operating DESCO vehicles in a safe manner and following all required safety protocols
  • Traveling to remote locations for short and long durations
