DESCO Volunteer at 2015 Pipeliner's Association of Houston Golf Tournament

9/28/15: DESCO's Jackie Gilliam and Paige Hampton greeted participants at the September 2015 Pipeliner's Association of Houston Golf Tournament at Kingwood County Club on the Marsh course. It was a rainy day for golf, but everyone still had a great time! It was a huge event, with groups taking up all four courses for two flights despite the poor weather.

This project was important to me because I grew up around, worked in, and played in the Anahuac NWR. It is a beautiful place that was hit hard by Hurricane Ike. It was a privilege to work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to restore this natural beauty and ensure that future generations can have the same experiences I had growing up and discovering the uniqueness of the Texas coast.
